Christmas Village

Right across the street from where Manuel works is the Ogden Christmas Village. There are several little houses set up in the park with magical displays inside some play music, some have puppets that move and all are sponsored by businesses. The park is full of beautiful Christmas lights too and of course Santa is there as well. We try to take the kids every year.

Last Friday, the kids and I met Manuel when he got off work and we walked around the village before the traffic picked up. It was very cold and as soon as Paisley couldn't feel her toes anymore we decided to leave. Just then a city worker told us if we waited 20 more minutes Santa would arrive with his reindeer. Paisley decided she wanted to stay and see the reindeer. So, we decided to wait in the car with the heater on. The kids took off their socks and boots and we dried them over the car heater.

Right on time, Santa's reindeer arrived and the kids got to see them. They were glad we waited. I was glad that it was pizza night because by the time we got home I was too tired to make dinner. Good thing I had picked up pizzas in advance and they were warm in the oven when we got home.

We all sat down to watch Home Alone in the basement with our pizza. The kids were rolling around laughing and have since been mimicking all the lines and their favorite scenes non stop. Great fun!

DAILY QUESTION: Are you one to venture out in the cold for a good time or do you prefer to hunker indoors?
