Pioneer Day!

The weekend of Paisley's birthday is also Pioneer Day here in Utah. So, we went up to Huntsville for the day and swam at the lake and had some delicious BBQ. We also played at the park and went to a Catholic Monastery nearby to listen to the monks chant. It was really neat.

Near the Huntsville BBQ Company there is an LDS church with a bell tower that chimes bells on every hour. It sounds like the churches in Europe. There are beach front properties all throughout the town and they are beautiful like something on the East coast - painted fancy yet some are very old. Bright colored Victorian style home - so pretty. There are also horse properties and ranches everywhere. The town is very shady, full of lush vegetation and huge trees. There are lots of historical homes and cabins including the Historic David O. McKay home. He was an LDS prophet.

It is such a fun town with beautiful resorts and green rolling hills and trees. It looks like like Europe at times. We love Huntsville!!

Later that night, we went to the neighborhood BBQ and had burgers! Then we came back to my house and had a firework show. Grandma, Cherise and her friend spent the night and in the morning we had a big pancake breakfast. After that we went to Nichols Park (Castle Park) in Kaysville. Its up on the mountain and surrounded by lush green forests an trails. It's across from a golf course. Above the park on the other side of highway 89 is a fun bakery and boutique in a historic old building that looks like a barn from the 1800's. There is also a cute toy store below that imports really neat toys from around the world.

After Kaysville, we went to Station Park in Farmington to visit Manuel at his work. There we ate $1.50 street tacos for lunch, and watched the water show. The kids played on the playground there and we shopped. We had so much fun!

We tried to copy the statue but our faces never were quite right.
