Paisley Turns Eight!

Paisley turned Eight! She had a gummy bear party and it was all her idea. We played pass the giant Gummy Bear (hot potato), danced to the gummy bear song, had gummy bear Popsicles, played Pie Face with gummy bears and whipped cream, and watched Disney's "the Gummi Bears". We had the most delicious vanilla cupcakes with gummy bears on top, made by a friend in our neighborhood. 

Grabdma Bev came up and spent the weekend at our house. We went out to breakfast, to the park, and then to a Drive-In. We saw Ghostbusters. It was the first time the kids and Manuel had ever been to one. They had fun! I used to go all the time when I was a kid. My mom would take us. 

On Saturday I took Paisley shopping so that she could spend her birthday money. She picked out some fun toys and then we came home and she made everyone sundaes with the gift Grandma Bev gave her. We had cake too. Manuel then took the kids swimming while I canned apricots and later we all went out to dinner at Golden Corral (a buffet).On Sunday I spoke at church about my pioneer ancestors and genealogy during sacrament meeting. We celebrated Pioneer Day and lit fireworks!

Random thing we saw while driving through Kaysville. A High School band playing! There were people dancing on the street and it made us happy!

At the museum of my Great, Great, Great Grandma Elizabeth. The women would put the silk eggs in their bra to incubate them. When they felt them hatch, they rushed home. This would even happen in church and at conference.

Learning how to spin silk. They would stretch the silk around furniture and twist it into strands.

A son that Thomas Whitaker had from his first marriage. He joined the church and came to America and never knew that his wife he left behind was pregnant. He found out about his son after his son had died.
