Manuel's Birthday and Halloween!

The kids were out of school for 2 1/2 weeks. So we crammed in a lot of traditions and fun activities. We went and saw the witches at Gardner Village, went on pic-nics, visited Grandma Bev, saw movies, made crafts, went to restaurants, and celebrated Cambrey' and Manuel's birthdays. They both got spoiled. In fact, I think this was the funnest birthday I have ever thrown for Manuel. It was a surprise. Dinner and a haunted ghost tour of 25th street in Ogden. It was so much fun! The restaurant we ate at was haunted and we figured that out before anyone told us. We heard children laughing in the restaurant and there was no one there. It was loud laughing. Then I felt a dismal weird feeling in the hallway where the bathrooms were. We later learned on our ghost tour that the hallway is the most haunted spot on all of 25th street! I think the owners of the restaurant shared that with us. They also shared other ghosts that they see in the restaurant and I guess there are children ghosts.

It's been a fun month!!

Gardner Village

We ran into Stacey!

This little baby is named Paisley. Stacey has two nieces named Paisley.

Paisley had a melt down because it was a little windy.

Broccoli cheese soup.

Long day.

Cambrey's birthday breakfast.

Cambrey's birthday!

Cambrey chose Cassic Fun Center for her birthday.

This is what we do to kill time while the girls are at clogging.

Dinner at Warren's.

Afternoon movie time!

Gabe made a Christmas house out of salt dough. He is making his own miniature Christmas village.

Cambrey's Halloween makeup for her angel costume.

"trunk or treat" at the church,

At Lagoon for the last time before it closes for the season.

Manuel's birthday dinner! At Scruds. We had stuffed burgers.

Mac and Cheese bites!

Going on a haunted ghost tour of Ogden's 25th street.

That is a closed off tunnel entrance in the basement of a business on 25th street.A paranormal investigation group from the University of Utah was coming in to investigate this night.

Here is the business owner.

The most haunted hotel in America. Ben Lomond Hotel.
Apparently the ghost children play with these toys.

Upstairs of the business.

Where we had dinner. It's haunted.

When you take a picture of this alley, it always turn out green she said. But it's anything but green in real life.

A picture of a ghost on the ghost tour that our tour guide had on her phone. It's of this same alley.

Our guide showed us this old photo of an Ogden building on fire. The image on the right appears to be a ghost hand catching the falling building.

Manuel always wanted a blue pillow for his office chair. So, I bought him one for his birthday.

Every office needs a globe. So I bought him one for his birthday.

Paisley gave him mouth wash and a bunch of bath loofas.

I gave him a coffin full of bottle cap candies and worms!

His pillow!

His globe!

I made him a dinner with all of his favorite ingredients. Sausage, bacon, artichokes, shrimp with fresh tomatoes, in a creamy garlic, lemon, cheese sauce over gnocchi.

Caramel cinnamon apple dumplings for desert, with vanilla ice cream!
A recipe my Dad used to make when I was little. But I added my own spin on it.

My jack-o-lantern.

Halloween Nachos on Halloween night!

Carving Jack-o-lanterns on Haloween!

Trick-or-treating at Daddy's work.

At Dad's work.

Our next door neighbors!

Gobbling up their candy!

Our creepy porch.

Our house at night.

The candy we passed out.

I made a brain jell-o.

Eating the brain!

Paisley and Cambrey painted each other's faces.

They are tearing down my old elementary school and building this new one. So we had to go visit because my kids had never seen my school before.

This was the spot where I had my very first recess when I moved to this school in the second grade. I came out those doors on the right and I was nervous because I didn't know anyone. But that recess put me at ease when children asked me to play with them.

The principals office on the left.

Front door of the school.

The stage where I starred in the musical "Mary Poppins". This was the gym where we had P.E.

The cafeteria.

That middle door was my fourth grade class with Mrs. Allen. The left door was Mrs. Joko's room where I won the 4th grade spelling bee!

The front of the school.

Mrs. King's class. This is where I had 5th and 6th grade. I loved this classroom. She was my favorite teacher and I wrote about her in my book, Successful Failures.

A peek inside my old classroom. I remember is so well!

My second grade playground. The equipment used to be different.

The kids and I went to McGrath's with my Mom and Cherise, after we visited the school.

Crab cakes, clams, crab artichoke dip, fried shrimp and salad! This was my dinner.

Cambrey bought a baking set with some of her birthday money from Opa.

They tried, but they were unsuccessful at making cupcakes.

Tatem playing with Cambrey.

Gabe going out to sell his cookies in the neighborhood.  He is loving his cookie business.

I made all of these sauces to go on my Hawaiian dogs - apricot mustard, coconut sauce, mango pineapple sauce, and pineapple relish.

Toasted sweet Hawaiian bread.

Smoked sausages.

I made a pineapple mango vinaigrette to go on our salad.

At a surprise party for a friend's husband.

My homemade chicken noodle soup! I put lemon oil and lemon balm in it and it's fabulous!

Egg and sausage on an English muffin with Hollandaise sauce! I made these for breakfast.

Beef tacos with my homemade salsa!

This is fun technology that Manuel bought. See the video below. It does whatever we ask it to do. It can turn off the lights, work the TV, tell us the time, weather, make us to-do lists and shopping lists and so much more!
